Cubiculum
The cubiculum (plural: cubicula) was a private room in a Roman house. It is derived from the Latin cubo, to lie down. It would be largely analogous with the modern concept of a bedroom, but has more or less come to refer to any room in a Roman house that has not been identified as having some other specific function assigned to it.
